Obituary of Susan J. Elmquist

Susan J. (Sarenpa) Elmquist, of Bloomington, age 78, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2018. Survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill; children, Nancy (John) Quinlan, Bill (Linda) Elmquist, and Jim Elmquist; grandchildren, Jay, Jackson, Brendan, Charlie, Meghan, Evie, and Will; siblings, Tom Sarenpa and Sally Swanson and their families. Born in Minneapolis and a proud graduate of Robbinsdale High School. A long-time employee of Donaldson Company, Inc. Susan was loved by co-workers and neighbors for her generosity, kindness, and exceptional baking skills. Above all, she valued family and friends and was relied upon often for her gentle advice, unwavering support, and keen sense of humor. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 11th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 9401 Nesbitt Ave., Bloomington. Visitation one hour before. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (alzfdn.org) or to a charity of the donor's choice.
