Obituary of Maxine Fenton

Fenton, Maxine 11/4/1928 - 9/22/2015 Our extraordinarily loving mother passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, leaving all who loved her with fond memories of joy and laughter. She is remembered for her lighthearted spirit, her joy in talking with people from all walks of life, her 20 years as a prison nurse, cookie baking days with her grandchildren, her love for oil painting and viewing The Masters in museums from Chicago to London, her ability to stretch a 4 person casserole into feeding 10, and her neon green raincoat that allowed us to spot her diminutive frame in any crowd. Her love of life was a constant joy for her husband of 60 years, the late Rev. C. Ray Fenton. She had 4 daughters (Lisa, Laurel, Leslie, Amy), 2 sons-in-law (John, Jose), and 7 grandchildren (Josh & Rachel, Ali & Taylor, Sam, Celia, Sage), although many others felt adopted by her motherly love and constant outreach. We bid farewell at her Celebration of Life service on Saturday, Sept 26, 4 pm, at Peace Presbyterian Church in St. Louis Park. Trumpets were sounded and balloons released as God and His Son, along with beloved family and friends, greeted her with open arms. Memorials can be made in Maxine's honor to: Arthritis Foundation, World Wildlife Fund, Peace Presbyterian Church, or Wayzata Community Church.
