Obituary of James Edward Stockhausen
James "Jim" Edward Stockhausen passed away September 26th, 2015, at Little Hospice in Edina, MN, at age 69. He was surrounded by family and close friends. Jim was born in Milwaukee, WI in 1946, the second child and only son of Gerry and Harriet Stockhausen. Early in childhood he established his reputation as a loyal friend and the stories of his many shenanigans are widely believed to be true. He graduated from Wauwatosa East High School in 1964 and went on to play football and complete college at UW Stevens Point. Over the years he worked in several different industries, lived in many regions of the country, and had much success in many varied lines of work including owning and operating a tavern in Iowa, managing a fleet of armored cars, and working in the mortgage industry for many years. It was the influence of the love of his life Susan Stockhausen that led to his settling down in Edina, MN. He spent the happiest years of his life with her until her death. Some years after that, he went on to enjoy an early retirement. He remained active as a hospice volunteer, a dog park advocate and enthusiast and was often to be found in the company of his many friends, close neighbors, relatives, and his loyal Airedale companion. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife Susan, his dear younger sister Joan Hitchcock, and his loving parents. He is survived by his older sister Faye Mayer, his nieces Liberty LiuPerez, Robin Lunz-Hitchcock, Amanda Mayer, Jamie Hitchcock and nephew Thomas Hitchcock, as well as many cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
