Obituary of Timothy James O’Connell

Timothy James O’Connell, Age 63, of Woodbury, died peacefully surrounded by family on October 12 from cancer. Tim was a loving brother, son, uncle, and friend. He lived his life full of generosity with an intellect everyone enjoyed. His memory will be forever held by family, friends, and countless others whose lives he touched. Tim grew up in Edina, MN, the son of Thomas and Claire O’Connell. He attended Edina High School and Georgetown University. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. Tim last worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. An avid reader of classic literature, religion, philosophy, history and politics, Tim had cultivated a breadth of knowledge second to none. He enjoyed walking, listening to music, his favorite radio shows and watching a few light hearted television shows. Tim had a wonderful sense of humor and was always able to connect any unusual event to a Seinfeld episode. He enjoyed his beautiful garden and loved the cats he had throughout his lifetime. Everyone who came across Tim knew he loved to discuss politics and had a zest for life with a passion for learning. Tim was a thoughtful, generous and kind person who enjoyed his conversations with friends, family and neighbors and adored his nieces and nephews whose art work was always proudly displayed on his refrigerator. He is survived by his partner, James Ingli, mother Claire, siblings Thomas (Janice), Brian (Patricia), Daniel (Lisa), Kathleen Sereda (Gorden), Karen Wheaton (Christopher), and Jake (Lea). He is also survived by nieces and nephews Katie, Kevin, Jennifer, Lindsay, Ryan, Christopher, Siobhan, and Teagan. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas C. O’Connell. Memorials are requested to Union Gospel Mission, 77 East 9th Street, St. Paul, MN 55101. Private Interment.
