Obituary of Maria E Olson

Maria E. Olson, 91, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. Maria was born in Duluth on Nov. 5, 1923 to Hjalmer and Ellen (Cornelia) Fosle. She was united in marriage to Gordon Olson on March 21, 1941 in Duluth. Maria had an avid love for growing and arranging flowers. She belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and found great comfort and strength in her faith. Maria was caregiver by nature who will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and warmth. She is preceded in death by her husband Gordon; son Charles; one sister; seven brothers and one grandchild Gordon. Maria is survived by her son Thomas (Katherine); daughters, Janice Daniels and Melanie "Cookie" Tobin; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many extended family members and friends. The family thanks the staff of Woodland Garden Apartments as well as the staff of St. Luke's Hospital. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth.
