Obituary of Ruth Lorraine Hauskins
Ruth Lorraine (Kittelson) Hauskins, age 95, Edina, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 5, 2018. Survived by children, Gwen (Norman) Wiese, William Kittelson, Jane Kittelson; stepson Lloyd (Annie) Hauskins; grandchildren Liz (Jake) Jacobson, Nick Wiese, Molly Kittelson; step-grandchildren Larry Hauskins, Jr., Linda Hauskins Allen, Nancy Hauskins DuBois, David Roberts; great-grandson Porter Jacobson. Preceded in death by husband of 23 years, Lawrence O. Hauskins and husband of 24 years, Mathias H. Kittelson, brothers Glen Vik, Harvey Vik, and sister Mildred (Oliver) Puttika. An active member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church since 1950, Ruth was a cheerful friend well known by many. Born in Sebeka, MN; graduated Wadena High School. After a brief stint in retailing, she was an early Northwest Airlines stewardess. After raising her family, she became an avid golfer, painter, and volunteer. She and husband Larry loved singing in choir, socializing, playing cards, and traveling the world. Annually she and Larry migrated south joining many friends at Desert Shadows Resort in Arizona. A talented and prolific painter using acrylics or oils she loved to paint scenes for others' homes. A frequent refrain: "Let me check my calendar". A lovely lady, mother, wife, friend to all, she loved her Lord and His church. Memorial service Saturday, June 23, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5001 Knox Ave S, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation 10:00 AM; Service 11:00 AM; Luncheon following. Memorials preferred to Grace Hospice or Mount Olivet Rolling Acres Home.
