Obituary of Irving Fink

Fink, Irving Age 90, of Minneapolis, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Harriett. Survived by sons, Michael (Julia) and Matthew (Andra); grandchildren, Abby, Maxwell and Gabriel, and sister, Helen. Irving was an Air Force veteran and served during WWII. He was a very talented actor and director and won awards for writing and producing radio drama and documentary programs while working at KUOM. Irv appeared in and directed many plays and sat on the boards of many local stages including the Children's Theatre, St. Louis Park Community Theatre, Centre Stage. He was a very successful voice over talent and proud member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors as well as the Screen Actors Guild. He appeared on many radio commercials and in television commercials. In the radio production world he was known as One Take Irving for his ability to quickly interpret and read commercial scripts. Irving also owned a promotional products company, Good Will Specialty Company, later known as GWS, Inc. He would work at GWS during the day and then act in or direct theatrical productions at night. With wife Harriett and several other local actors he started Beyond Words, a local talent agency that thrived for many years. Irving was known for his sense of humor, the ability to make people laugh out loud, a strong work ethic and kind heart by his many friends in his neighborhoods and the business and the performing arts worlds. He was a voracious and eclectic reader, a crossword puzzle devote' and a whiz at the cryptoquip. Above all he was a devoted husband and wonderful father who will be sorely missed. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18th with one hour visitation at 3:00 p.m. at the Cremation Society of Edina, 7110 France Ave. So., Edina.
