Obituary of Allwyn ‘’ Johnson

Johnson, Allwyn (Al) Age 90, of New Hope, passed away peacefully Nov. 1, 2015. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Verna Johnson. Al honorably served his country in the USN in WWII. He attended the Univ. of MN and subsequently was employed by General Mills for 30 yrs. His avocation was designing and printing brochures, programs and invitations. After retirement, Al's abiding love for music, travel and nature filled his life with great joy. Camping, fishing and hiking turned him into the "oldest living boy scout". Al was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Service Corps of Retired Executives, American Legion, a Scoutmaster and a 13 yr. member of The Honeywell Concert Band. He is survived by Virginia, devoted wife of 58 years; cousins, Virginia Berlin, San Diego, CA and Kathryn Robertson, Dove Canyon, CA as well as special friends, the Ostrom and Quinn families. A celebration of his life will be held on November 7, 2015 at 11 AM at Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park. Memorials are preferred to the Westminster Presbyterian Church 1200 S Marquette Ave, Mpls.
