Obituary of Joseph A Whelan

Joseph A. Whelan, 54, of Duluth MN passed away November 3rd, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Joe was born March 8, 1961 in Duluth, MN, graduated from Duluth East in 1979 and went to work for the Sheet Metal Workers Union #10, retiring after 35 years of service. Joe enjoyed golfing, doing projects around the house, spending time with friends and family and being at home with his “Girls” Reno, Bonnie and Piper. Joe is survived by his loving wife Shelly, his parents Clarence and Jean Whelan, daughter Monique Whelan, son David (O’Neill) Whelan, siblings Kathy (Michael) O’Rourke, Jim Whelan, and Patty (Steve) Whelan, and grandchildren Kyla, Wesley, Jack, Lola, and Avril and many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday November 9th, 2015 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota at 4100 Grand Avenue in Duluth. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Make A Wish Foundation is requested.
