Obituary of Stanley G Kowalik
Stanley G. (Stosh) Kowalik, 87, longtime town of Oakland resident, passed away peacefully at Essentia Hospice in Superior, on Friday, November 6, surrounded by family after a long battle with dementia.
Stan was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 2, 1928 to Anthony and Eva Kowalik. He served his country during the Korean War. On February 14, 1953 he married his sweetheart, Regina Dzikonski, who preceded him in death in 2009. Stanley worked for US Steel until it closed. He worked numerous jobs, but his passions were his farm, cattle and family. He enjoyed meeting the many interesting people he sold his vegetables to and made many lasting friends.
Stanley was an active member of St. Adalberts and St. Williams Parishes, a founding member of the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, and a world champion showshoe racer.
He is preceded in death by his wife Regina, parents Anthony and Eva Kowalik and sister Martha Olson.
Stan is survived by his four children David Kowalik, Daniel (Joyce) Kowalik, Deanne (Patrick) Conley and Dean (Kim) Kowalik. Stanley and Regina adored their grandchildren; Nate, Eric, Heather, Mindy, Shane, Dustin, Dana, Shawn, Maggie and Hank, as well as their great-grandchildren; Michael, Joshua, Emery, Danica, Maya, Mallory and Emily.

A memorial mass will be held at noon on Thursday, November 12th at St. William’s Church in Foxboro with a visitation from 11:00 am until the noon funeral mass, a luncheon will follow.
