Obituary of Donna Fjone

Donna "Marlene" Fjone passed away Wednesday, May 9th, at home with her family by her side after a long hard fought battle with cancer. Marlene was born January 13th, 1939 to Erick and Ruth Sjoberg. She grew up in Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1957. Marlene worked at Wicks N' Sticks and Hallmark for many years while she was raising her children and later as a Personal Care attendant. Marlene and Roger moved to Pequaywan Lake and lived there happily for 25 years, She Enjoyed many hours on the pontoon boat, doing ceramics, and making many cherished memories with family and friends. Marlene will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, her fabulous meals and her passion to help others. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Roger "Buddy" Fjone; Her parents; grandson, Aaron Nelson ; step-son, Roger Fjone, Jr.; brothers, Harry and Ronnie Sjoberg; and brother-in-law, Richard Nelson. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Nelson, Brad (Lissette) Nelson, Barry (Sandra) Nelson; step-children Kristi (Scott) Konu, Paul Fjone; sisters, Barb (Lynn) Peterson, Pat Nelson; sister-in-law, Pat Sjoberg; grandchildren, Derek, Matthew, Stephanie, Brittany, Donna Jo, Jenny, Bernie, Trent, Gunner, Josie, Ben and Reggie; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces; nephews, and cousins. The Family would like to thank Dr. Silvia and staff at St. Luke's Hospital and The staff at St. Croix Hospice for the kind and compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 20th at Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth, with visitation at 2 p.m.
