Obituary of David Charles Lehtinen
Lehtinen, David Charles Age 58, died peacefully Saturday, November 14. He was born November 24, 1956 in Virginia, MN to Eino and Helen (Sregzinski) Lehtinen. At the age of 7, the family moved from Mt. Iron to New Hope where he graduated from Cooper High School in 1975. He worked for Duffey Paper Co. for 34 years before he was forced into retirement because of his illness. He married Erin Kielty on August 24, 1996. Dave found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends at their cabin on Lake Leander, MN. Some of Dave's proudest moments consisted of watching his daughters play soccer and basketball, as he was a very devoted family man. Dave is survived by his wife of 19 years, Erin; daughters, Dana and Ericka, and step daughter, Jessica; sisters, Mary Backman and Carol (Ray) Pohto, and a host of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eino and Helen, and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Backman and Roger Novak. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 21st at 3:00 pm at the family's church, Maple Grove Evangelical Free Church located at 8585 Rice Lake Road, Maple Grove, MN. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the celebration. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to the church, MGEFC, in honor of the Benevolence Fund.
