Obituary of Bruce D Johnson

Bruce D Johnson, 73, of Saginaw, MN passed away November 16, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. Bruce was born October 24, 1942 in Duluth, MN to the late Leo and Myrtle Johnson. He graduated from Duluth Central High School. Bruce worked with the Duluth Fire Department-Rescue Squad. After retiring he transitioned into the antique and collectible gun business. He and Joyce traveled the country for nearly 20 years attending gun and trade shows. Bruce also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, watching horror movies, the MN Twins and sports cars. Bruce spent most of his life in Duluth. He and Joyce lived in Clarksville, TN, a short time in Scottsburg, IN and several years in Bloomfield IA, before returning to MN. He is survived by his wife Joyce Johnson of 27 years; daughter, Stacey Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Lester & Lois Rustad; step-sons, James Elwell (friend Terri), Martin (Nikki) Elwell; sister, Nancy Fink; sister-in-law, Geri Johnson; brother-in-law, Kevin Rustad; grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, Jacob, Isaac, and Lucas. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean "Ippy" Johnson; step-son, John Elwell; brother-in-law, Paul Fink. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
