Obituary of Bruce D Johnson
Bruce D Johnson, 73, of Saginaw, Minn., passed away Nov. 16, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.
Bruce was born Oct. 24, 1942 in Duluth, to the late Leo and Myrtle Johnson.
He graduated from Duluth Central High School. Bruce worked with the Duluth Fire Department-Rescue Squad. After retiring he transitioned into the antique and collectible gun business. He and Joyce traveled the country for nearly 20 years attending gun and trade shows. Bruce also enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, watching horror movies, the Minnesota Twins and sports cars. Bruce spent most of his life in Duluth. He and Joyce lived in Clarksville, Tenn., a short time in Scottsburg, Ind., and several years in Bloomfield Iowa, before returning to Minnesota.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean "Ippy" Johnson; step-son, John Elwell; brother-in-law, Paul Fink.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Johnson of 27 years; daughter, Stacey Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Lester and Lois Rustad; step-sons, James Elwell (friend Terri), Martin (Nikki) Elwell; sister, Nancy Fink; sister-in-law, Geri Johnson; brother-in-law, Kevin Rustad; grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, Jacob, Isaac, and Lucas.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
