Obituary of Alice J. Dyrhaug
Dyrhaug, Alice J. Age 78, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Woodbury Estates. Born August 17, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois. Moved to Shotley, Minnesota with family at age 10. Graduated from Kelliher High School in 1955 and attended Bemidji State Teachers College. Employed by the University of Minnesota for nearly 40 years. Beloved Aunt, Sister, Sister-in-law, she was devoted and very close to family, always. Loved music and animals, especially her kitties Sophie, Hannah and Josie. A marvelous cook, she enjoyed preparing delicious feasts for everyone. She was a great listener, always thoughtful and found such joy and humor in the subtle, down-to-earth moments of life. Her "one-liners" often brought tears of laughter. Preceded in death by parents, Melvin & Alice Dyrhaug; brothers, John, Melvin, David and Donald Dyrhaug. Survived by sister, Shirley (Larry) Petta; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Donald) Dyrhaug; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to thank the wonderful care given her by the staff at Woodbury Estates. Memorials to the Animal Humane Society. Memorial Service 11:00 am Monday, December 7, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Ave S., Minneapolis. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
