Obituary of Gerald M. Raaflaub

Gerald M. "Gerry" Raaflaub, 77, of Superior, Wis., passed away on Nov. 24, 2015, at Villa Marina in Superior. Gerry was born in Superior on Dec. 25, 1937 to Jay and May (Frieberg) Raaflaub. He graduated from Central High and a few years later enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard. Gerry was stationed on the East Coast and served 1959-1965. After returning to Superior he spent the majority of his working career as a switchman for Burlington Northern. In November of 1987 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Davis. Gerry enjoyed gardening, working in his garage and above all else visiting with his neighbors and friends. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Superior. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Mary Ann. Gerry is survived by his wife Mary Jane; children Lisa Wefelmeyer, Patty (Tim) Jaques, Carolyn (John) Zatko, Janeil (Steve) Crist and Kenneth, Keith (Tracy), and Kelly (Lisa) Meinke; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother John, as well as many extended family members and friends.
