Obituary of Robert A Herrick

Robert A. Herrick, 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday Dec. 20, at Solvay Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief and valiant battle with cancer. Rob was a lifelong Duluth resident and graduate of Denfeld High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He loved sailing and seeing the world. He was a dedicated employee of Mielke Electric Works for many years. Rob enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a man of his word and his sense of humor and colorful political opinions will be missed tremendously. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Sophie Herrick, and his brother, Steven. Rob is survived by his children Scott and Allison Herrick (Denny Davey); brother, Mike (Barb) Herrick; niece, Brenda Herrick, and nephew, Mike Herrick Jr. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Essentia Health and Solvay Hospice House for their professional and compassionate care.
