Obituary of Betty J. Leszcynski
Betty J. Leszcynski, 90, lifelong resident of Superior died Dec. 23, 2015 at the Villa Marina, surrounded by her children.
Betty was born in Superior on Nov. 11, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Ann (Zatko) Ritzman. Betty married Tony Leszcynski on June 14, 1947.
She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King, the Catholic Daughters of America and an active volunteer for many church functions. Betty was also a member of the Elks Lodge No. 403 and a red hat lady.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; sister, Delores Belanger; a granddaughter, Angela Schlais and a great-grandson, Dirk Nordrum.
Next to her lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother Mary, her family was most important. That surviving family includes two sons, Greg (Sue) Leszcynski and David (Linda) Leszcynski, her daughter, JoAnn Leszcynski and partner, Jill Harnstrom all of Superior; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and a great-grandson; four nephews and a niece. Also surviving are cousins, Mary Jo (Bill) Collins, Belair, Md. and Bob (Lynn) Malinoski, Neehah, WisI.
Visitation: 9 until the 10 a.m. memorial mass on Saturday, Jan. 2 celebrated by Rev. Father Andrew Ricci at The Cathedral of Christ the King. Private interment at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Betty's name to the Cathedral of Christ the King.
