Obituary of Paul Bernhard Eid

Paul B. Eid Age 92, died at home in Minneapolis the day after Christmas 2015, surrounded by family. He was born to the Rev. and Mrs. E.C. Eid in Lake Preston, S.D., March 28, 1923. Paul graduated St. Olaf College and Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul. He also earned his MSW from the University of MN. Paul gave 30 years of service to the Twin Cities community as Director of Adoptions at Children’s Home Society of Minnesota and in Life Enrichment programs at Lutheran Social Service, including director of AIDS Related Ministries. As a lifelong professional church musician, he shared his many gifts as choir director, organist and soloist. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lois. Four children: Deborah Eid, Grand Rapids, MI; Jonathan (Danid) Eid, Lakewood, CO; Kellan Christopher, Mill Valley, CA, and Rebekah (Greg) Burton, Zion, IL. Six grandchildren: Rachael Eid-Ries, Chicago, IL, Joshua Eid-Ries and Ethan Exoo, Grand Rapids, MI, Isaac Eid, Boulder, CO, and Benjamin and Elijah Burton, Zion, IL. He is also survived by brother Luthard Eid, Port Huron, MI, sister Audrey (Thor) Skeie, Hutchinson, MN, and sister-in-law Marlene Schiotz, Menahga, MN. Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on January 2, 2016, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2730 East 31st St., Minneapolis, MN 55406 with visitation one hour before.
