Obituary of Roy H. Johnson

Roy H. Johnson, 92, of Duluth, formerly of Silver Bay, Minn., passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2015. He was born Dec. 11, 1923 in Duluth to Emil and Edith (Parent) Johnson. Roy was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a charter member of the Taconite Masonic Lodge in Silver Bay. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his parents; and a brother, Floyd. He is survived by his children, David (Lorraine), Kurt and Lynda (Tim) Cass; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephanie, Emilee and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Lilah, Paisley and Oliver; sisters, Harriet Eklund, Betty Johnson, Merle Abernethy, and brother, Harry (Bev); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Roy's children would like to thank the staff of Edgewood Vista, whom Roy considered as family, for their kindness and consideration toward Roy and his family. GATHERING OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS: 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Monday, Jan. 4, in the Clair Nelson Center, Cramer Rd., Finland, Minn.
