Obituary of Linda Ellen Sjogren
Linda Ellen (Smith) Sjogren, 66, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2015 with her loving husband and family by her side.
Linda was born on August 7, 1949 in Duluth to John and Patricia Smith. She was truly the light of their life. Linda was especially close to her father.
Linda grew up in Kelsey and Cotton, Minn. She attended and graduated from Cotton High School and won the title of homecoming queen during her high school days. Following high school Linda gained employment at St. Luke's Hospital where she worked until her retirement in September 2014.
During her life, Linda worked not only at St. Luke's Hospital but other various jobs. It was her job at St. Ann's Residence that brought her to her soul mate, love of her life and husband, Dan. Dan and Linda were married on July 20, 2002 and were a match made in heaven.
Linda was a kind and compassionate woman who always had her home and heart open to everyone. She was strong-willed, quick-witted and quick with a joke. Linda loved nothing more than to have her house filled with those she loved, laughing and eating. She was a caretaker to all and would do anything for anyone. She will be deeply missed.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia Smith; Uncle Bruce Gagnon; and close special family friend, Cheryl Chartier.
She is survived by her soulmate and husband, Dan; his parents, Tom and Judy Sjogren; as well as her Uncle Glen "Boots" Smith and his family; Aunt Maryann Evensen and her family; Aunt Cheryl Gagnon and her family; special cousin, Kay Holsclaw; the Chartier and Danielson families; her best friend, Jill Gielarowski; and other numerous cousins. Linda also leaves behind her special cats, Boots, Schotzie and new puppy Tanner.
The family would also like to thank St. Luke's ICU, especially nurse Jim, for his care and compassion not only for Linda, but for the family, during their time of grief.
