Obituary of Bruce A. Larson

Bruce A. Larson, 80, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2016, after suffering from a traumatic brain injury due to a fall in his home on December 14, 2016. Bruce was born in Thief River Falls, MN on July 8, 1936. He married the love of his life, Marles (Wilkens), on April 16, 1960. Bruce worked for the MN Department of Transportation for 44 years before his retirement in 1999. Bruce and Marles moved to Duluth in 1986. If they weren’t enjoying the beauty of the North Shore, they were on the road camping in their motorhome, traveling the world or spending time with their family or friends. He is survived by his wife, Marles, and their three children; Jim (Wendy) Larson of Napa, CA; Sue (Phil) Peichel and their children Molly and Chad of Sartell, MN; and Kari (Perry) Collins and their children Courtney, Kayla and Stephanie of Hermantown, MN. The family would like to thank Essentia-St Mary’s Medical Center’s Neuro/Trauma ICU and Palliative Care Units for their care and compassion. He lived an amazing life and lived each day to the fullest. A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with visitation one-hour prior to service, at Peace In Christ Lutheran Church in Hermantown, MN.
