Obituary of Patrick Christopher Murphy
Patrick Christopher Murphy, 52, slipped away peacefully at his home on Jan. 1, 2016.
Although he was born in Duluth, he grew up on Bass Lake and considered Gordon, Wis his home.
He played football in his youth and was a member of the Northwood's High School wrestling team in Minong, Wis.
Patrick appreciated the simple things in life and loved spending time with his friends in his garage while cheering on his beloved Minnesota Vikings and catering to his spoiled dog, Jake. He also enjoyed telling his famous riddles, watching football games at Central Field, and lending a hand to anyone in need. Patrick was always willing to help mow the lawns and shovel the driveways and sidewalks of his neighbors who dubbed him "The Mayor of the Neighborhood." He truly had a heart of gold.
Above all, he enjoyed caring for and spending time with his great nieces and nephews. Uncle Patrick was always willing and available to babysit.
Survived by his daughter Cora Murphy; mother Yvonne Stewert; Devoted sister Dawn Murphy; his beloved dog Jake; his nieces Jessica Brickson (Joe Kujawa), Jamee Parenteau (Jeff), Meghan Vos (Justin); great-nieces and nephews Jaiden Brickson, Kenzie Kujawa, Noah and Hunter Vos, Aunna and Shawn Parenteau, and many treasured cousins, family and friends.
Preceded in death by his father James Murphy; brother Shawn Murphy, and his beloved dog Daisy.
Friends and family will remember Pat for his kind spirit, warm smile, and those baby blue eyes.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 1 p.m. Jan. 29, at Sunrise Cemetery, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy., Hermantown, Minn.
