Obituary of Carolyn Lammers

Lammers, Carolyn Age 83, of Richfield, MN. Born November 6, 1932 in Saint Ansgar, Iowa and passed away on January 3, 2016. Graduate of Austin (MN) High School, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. Carolyn worked as a public health nurse in San Antonio, Texas and Durham, North Carolina. She did volunteer work in Bolivia. Carolyn played the violin and had a lifelong love of music. She also loved reading, tennis, golf and hiking. Carolyn championed and advocated for healthcare, voting and social justice. “Carolyn was an intelligent, articulate woman who had great compassion and understanding of her fellow human beings, as well as a great sense of humor”. Daughter-in-law, Paula Lammers. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Mable (Clark) Miller; sister, Marilyn Miller Arens; husband, Frank R. Lecocq; son, David Lecocq; daughter, Dianne Marie Lecocq Muller and son-in-law, Marvin Muller. She is survived by husband, Mark Lammers; foster son, Donald (Blanca) Glaser; stepsons, Bruce (Tamara) Lammers and Jay (Paula) Lammers; sister, Thea (Gary) Underhill; brother, Clark Miller; daughter-in-law, Brenda Lecocq; nine grandchildren and two great grandsons. The family wishes to thank the many people at Nine Mile Creek for their wonderful work with Carolyn. They also want to thank Fairview Hospice for their expert and caring work with Carolyn. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 at First Lutheran Church, 1114 West Traverse Road, Saint Peter, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials such as Planned Parenthood, Public Radio, College/University Student Assistance Funds or donor’s choice.
