Obituary of Milan Frank Matetich
Milan Frank Matetich, 77, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016 at his home.
Milan was born on March 16, 1938 to Frank and Molly (Radakovich) Matetich. He attended Morgan Park High School and graduated class of 1956. Milan spent the majority of his working career as a truck driver for Ulland Brothers and was a member of the Teamsters Local 346. Milan was a very sociable person who befriended nearly everyone he met. He enjoyed playing accordion, which he learned early on, as well as playing pool and riding motorcycles (strictly Harleys). Most notable was Milan’s love for his family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father Klink Fredrick; brother-in-law Ted Griak and granddaughter Maddie Mathews.
Milan is survived by his daughters, Terri DeCaire and Linda (Mark) Behning; sons, Ken (Kim) Mathews and Steve (Lorrie) Mathews; grandchildren, Jesse, (Lena) Behning, Sara Behning, Katie and Ryan Mathews, Marcus Johnson and Frank and Colton Katzmarek; brother George (Margo) Matetich; sister Carol Griak; mother of his children and lifelong friend Mary Matetich; special friend Jennifer and her daughter Riley along with many extended family and countless friends.
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 9 am until the 10 am memorial service on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave. Duluth, MN. The family kindly requests no flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota 218-624-5200
