Obituary of Lee Anne Wilson

Lee Anne Wilson, age 64, died in St. Paul, MN, January 10, 2016 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Lee was born July 17, 1951 in San Jose, California, to George and Carol Nothwang, raised in the San Jose area, graduating from Mother Butler High School in 1969. She married Rev. Ward Malloy and relocated to the Midwest where she resided the rest of her adult life. They later divorced in 1984. Lee completed her Bachelors degree from Saint Teresa College in Winona, MN in 1988 and her Masters degree from United Theological Seminary in 2012. She was passionate about leading retreats, providing spiritual direction, and dedicated to the church. Her work and research interests included the spiritual care of the elderly and mental health advocacy. She preached and served in a range of ministries with a variety of parishes over her lifetime, most recently with St. Pauls on-the-Hill and The Episcopal Homes. Lee loved to write, knit, and her cats. She enjoyed music, playing multiple instruments and singing. Lee was a dedicated supporter of Minnesota Public Radio and animal rescue organizations. She would ride a carousel any chance she could and was life long collector of dolls. She loved the ocean, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and the comic strip Peanuts. Lee is survived by her children, daughter Celina (David) Peerman, Waverly, IA and Luke (Beth) Malloy, Plymouth, MN; her mother Carol Osterlund of Murphys, CA, brothers Jon Nothwang of San Jose, CA, Brian Nothwang, Murphys, CA and four grandchildren: Elizabeth, Adrianne, Anika and Joshua whom she adored. Lee will be missed also by her stepmother, Ardyth Nothwang of San Jose, CA, beloved cousins, step siblings, aunts, uncles and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, George Nothwang, formerly of San Jose, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Homes Coventry Chapel, 1842 University Ave West, St Paul, MN on January 14th at 10a.m. Family will receive visitors beginning at 9a.m. in the Chapel. A graveside interment will be scheduled at later time. Memorials should be directed to Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home (St. Paul, MN) or the family. Questions may be directed to Lee’s daughter, Celina, son, Luke, or mother, Carol. The family is grateful for the love and care Lee has received throughout her illness, from dear friends and church members, as well as the Episcopal Homes, Our Lady of Peace Hospice, and many wonderful health care providers.
