Obituary of Robert T. Lilland
NEW PRAGUE, Minn. - Robert T. Lilland, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 12, 2016. Bob passed away at his home in New Prague, Minn., after a short battle with cancer. Bob grew up on a farm in the Dolliver area and attended Lincoln Central High School. After high school, Bob enlisted and became a United States Marine. Sergeant Robert T. Lilland served his country honorably in the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1967.
On April 6, 1968 Bob married Marsha Theesfeld. Bob worked as an electrician at John Morrell in Estherville and later worked for the State of Iowa as an inspector of elevators and amusement rides. He retired from the State of Iowa in April 2015. In his spare time, Bob was always busy working on many woodworking and home projects.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oswald and Hulda, his twin brother Richard, and his sister Janet.
Bob is survived by his wife Marsha, his three children, Kevin (Barb) Lilland from Prior Lake, Minn., Stacey (Michael) Pieper from New Prague, Minn., and Scott (Jessica) Lilland from Phoenix, Ariz., and his sister Sharon (Joe) Walker from Centerville. Bob is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan, Jeremiah, Jessica, Jenna, Brendan, Brooke, Charlee, and Mack. There will be a military honor service at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis in mid-April followed by a celebration of life.
