Daniel attended Johnson High School, served in the Army and then the reserves. He started working at an early age at the St Paul Farmers Market selling flowers and newspapers, then traveled across country working on the railroad. Always faithful to his family, he brought home his paycheck to his immigrant parents. He worked many years at Northern States Power as a service man and then moved to the Corporate Office. He was an accomplished saxophone player that loved music and played in a band for many years. He owned many businesses and approached every day with unbridled optimism. He loved nothing more than his family, his wife of 65 years, Sunday spaghetti dinners with his children and grandchildren and weekends at the family retreat on Mille Lacs Lake. He wanted nothing more than his family to stick together and make lasting memories which we did. He spoke to his sisters and brothers daily whom he loved dearly; there was nothing greater than family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Thank you to Dr. Michael J. Bozivich for his exceptional care and concern, to Jessie his home care nurse and to the staff at St Joseph's Hospital for their compassionate care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 23rd, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Lutheran Church, 1194 E. County Road C Maplewood, MN 55109.
