He leaves his wife, Melva, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on August 31, 2015; sons, Stephen (Ellen Mrja) Moline, of Mankato, and John (Julia) Hesse- Moline, St. Paul; daughters, Peggy Moline-Livdahl, Seattle, and Carol Moline, Houston; three grandsons, Bruce and Stephen Moline, Houston, and Axel Hesse-Moline, St. Paul; three granddaughters, Britta Moline, Paris, Dacotah Moline-Livdahl, Seattle, and Helena Hesse-Moline, St. Paul, and sister, Lillian Mehlhoff, Sheridan, Montana. Born May 11, 1929, he was the son of Albert and Rose (Heringer) Moline of Brantford, North Dakota. He earned a bachelor of arts in religion at Northwest Nazarene College, Nampa, Idaho, a bachelor of science in education at Moorhead (Minnesota) State University, and a master of science in education from the University of Oregon, Eugene. A much-loved teacher at elementary schools in West Fargo, ND, Eugene, and Moorhead, he retired in 1991. Gust was an avid reader, eager hiker, talented woodworker, serious gardener, and decidedly un-serious fisher/hunter. Most importantly, he loved his wife and family unconditionally and unwaveringly.
