Obituary of Roger O. Erickson

Roger O. Erickson Age 83. Died Feb. 8, 2016. While we could talk about his childhood in Ely, his army career at Fort Knox, and how he loved living in Washington, DC when he worked for the Coast Guard, we won’t. We could mention the home he loved in Bloomington, his 30-year career at Prudential, and his encore careers at Dayton’s, Barnes & Noble and the U of M Medical School, but we’ll skip that too. Dad was never about his accomplishments. He was all about his family and was especially devoted to his beloved grandchildren: Austin, David, Kate, Kira, Isaac and Alden. He is also survived by wife, Sharon; children, Nancy (Mike), Kathy (Scott) and Kurt (Erica). A dessert-themed celebration of his sweet life will be Fri., March 4, 2016, 5 - 8 p.m. at Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave. S., Edina. For a guy raised in Ely, Dad really disliked winter, so a private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will occur in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Children’s Cancer Research Fund at the University of MN, or Hope Kids MN
