Obituary of Robert Dietrich Perkins

Robert Dietrich "Bob" Perkins, age 91, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on May 28th, 2018. Preceded in death by his wife Beata, parents, infant brother, and sister Marion Loobeek. Survived by daughters Kathy Perkins, Linda (Jeff) Pederson, and son Jon Perkins. Grandchildren Josh (Sarah) Pederson, Sam (Chelsea) Pederson, Nick (Nicole) Perkins, Jennie Perkins, eight great-grandchildren, along with a special friend Daisy Carlson, and many relatives and wonderful friends. Bob was a life-long member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Mpls. There he started a city-wide church basketball league, which he led for 40 years. His love of sports came from his four years at Southwest High School in Mpls., where he was the student manager for four sports. He was a World War II veteran. Bob was employed by Gerber for 35 years as a salesman. Bob loved sports, eating and working on family history. The family thanks Assisting Hands for their help over the past years that enabled him to stay in his home. The funeral will be on Friday June 8, 2018 at 11:00 am at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Ave South, Mpls. Visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, or AHCF, the foundation researching his granddaughter's disorder.
