Obituary of Judith Diane Grytdahl

Judith Diane Grytdahl, age 73, of Mtka, passed away Feb. 21st, 2016 at Marie Stiener Kelting Hospice Home surrounded by family and friends. Judith was born Jan. 3rd, 1943 at St. Lukes Hospital, Duluth, MN to Lloyd Howard and June (Grenner) Grytdahl. Judith graduated East Senior High in 61; She earned her B.A. at UMDuluth and her Masters from Florida State Univ. Judith joined International Voluntary Services in Laos 1965. She dedicated her life to Non-Profit organizations in CO, OR, and MN with: American Red Cross, Amer. Cancer Society, Amer. Heart Assoc., Lake Superior College Foundation, Courage Center, and MN Reading Corps. Judith is survived by son Stephen Green (Toni Schweigert) of Minne-tonka; brothers: Robert (Dawn) Grytdahl, Duluth; Jay Grytdahl, Guangzhou China; Kim (Dixie) Grytdahl, Las Vegas NV; her beloved grandchildren Calvin and Charlotte Green; her aunt, Margaret (Grytdahl) Soderquist; lifelong friend Marge Erickson; also an amazing niece and many special nephews. Judith's spirit now mingles with the cool breeze moving through the Birch and Spruce trees of the North Shores of Lake Superior. Her wind swept spirit softly and gently whispers to us all and whenever big fluffy snowflakes fall know she is all around you. A service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd April 16th in Duluth followed by interment at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Animal Humane Society, Hennepin County Library, or charity of your choice.
