Obituary of Virginia H Blais

Virginia H. Blais, 90, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 with her family by her side. Virginia Hanson, born April 25, 1925 was a lifelong Duluth resident. Upon graduating from Duluth Denfeld High she worked at First American National Bank before marrying Ralph Blais in 1951. After they raised three children, Virginia was employed at St. Mary's Hospital until retirement. The family enjoyed countless road trips, especially in the Fall. She loved hiking and exploring with her children and grandchildren. Music, bird watching and gardening were her favorite hobbies, however, most precious to Virginia was time spent with family. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph and sister Alice Laughlin. She is survived by son Gary (Annette) Blais; daughter Carol (Steve) Wakefield and daughter Nancy (Steve) Carlson; grandchildren Ashley, Nick, Jake, Erin, Kelly (AJ), Shannon and Rafe; sister-in-law Helen Blais and many nieces and nephews. Our deepest gratitude to the caring staff and residents at Aftenro Home who are such a blessing to us all. Her children and grandchildren cherish the special memories made with their Mom and Grandma. At Virginia's request no services will be held.
