Obituary of Roberta Kay Pederson
Roberta Kay Pederson, 74, of Cloquet, Minn., formerly of Duluth, passed away after a seven month battle with cancer on Feb. 23, 2016, at Diamond Willows Cloquet.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1942 in Duluth to James M. and Marion (Hendrickson) McKean.
Bobby Kay was a life-long resident of Duluth and graduate of Morgan Park High School. As a young mother she participated in Girl Scouts, Brownies, 4H Club, Summer Bible School and President of Stowe School PTA. As a business owner and partner with her husband, she was an active member of the West Duluth Business and Civic Club for several years. Throughout her life she held various part-time employment at the Kitchi Gami Club, Travelers Insurance, Murphy Oil, Vintage Acres, Maple Hill Meats and most recently as housemother at the Christian Mission Agape House of Hope.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts, uncles and extended family members.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Paul) Bachinski, Debra (Larry) Markus; grandchildren, Joseph Olson, Kayla (Cam) Rosenberger, Gregory Bachinski, Hannah Bachinski, Jacob Johnson, Victoria Gravelle; great-grandchildren, Lilah and Jackson Rosenberger; brothers, James McKean, Frank (Ginger) McKean; former husband and friend, Roger Pederson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Diamond Willows and St. Luke's Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided to Bobby Kay in her final weeks of life.
