Obituary of June Bjorlin

June (Seymour) Bjorlin, 88, of Duluth, Minn. passed away unexpectedly Feb. 25, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. June was born June 25, 1927 in Duluth to Edward and Louis Seymour. She was valedictorian of her graduating class in Lakewood School. June worked as a turner in the garment industry at North Shore Mfg., for Johnson's and Hartman's Bakeries, and Woolworth's dime store where she met the Love of her Life Gordy. They were married for 59 years until he passed in 2006. June was a fantastic cook, and loved entertaining at her home and at the lake. She enjoyed going out to eat so much that Gordy named her "Madam-Lunch-A-Lot." She also enjoyed watching the birds out her kitchen window, watching hockey with Gordy, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, Scrabble with her sister-in-law Mabel Bjorlin, playing cards, and bowling mixed double leagues with Gordy. June was a "people person" and was up for anything. June was a very active member of Bethany Baptist Church, was head of its kitchen, and former Social Committee head. June was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Tiny Seymour, husband Gordy, and brother Richard. June is survived by her brother William, daughter Susan Barber, son David (Moonie) Bjorlin, grandchildren Adam and Andrea Barber, and great-grandchildren Damian and Kaitlyn Jellum and Riley Barber. VISITATION: 1 p.m, until the 2 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Bethany Baptist Church, 6700 Grand Ave., Duluth.
