Obituary of Deborah Dorothy Meyer

Deborah Dorothy Meyer, 60, of Duluth, slipped away peacefully under the stars of Houston, Texas on Feb. 27, 2016. She was resting comfortably in her new RV surrounded by her family and friends. Debbie was born in Duluth, on March 26, 1955 to Joseph and Pearl Venier. She graduated from Denfeld High School and attended business classes at DBU. Debbie was united in marriage to Richard Meyer on Sept. 6, 1977. She was employed with several area businesses including Edwards Insurance and the Carlton School District. Debbie's favorite pastime was spent camping and spending time on the beach. She also loved antiques and used her gift of creativity to refinish furniture and produce arts and crafts. This along with her impeccable gardening resulted in a beautifully decorated home that was awe inspiring to all. She held an incredible connection with children, particularly her grandchildren. Debbie had an enormous heart and drew people in with her caring and loving nature. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her father and sister Nanette Rust. Debbie is survived by her husband Dick; son Adam (Annaleah) of Gainesville, Texas; grandchildren, Rhoslyn and Yeshaiah; mother Pearl of Hermantown, Minn.; siblings, Judy (Ted) Yehle of Minneapolis, Dianna (Ken) Oliver of Duluth, Bernie Venier of Glencoe, Minn., and Joe Venier Jr. of Proctor, Minn.; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. The family extends a special thank you to all of the new friends at Lakeview RV Resort in Houston for their care and support. Debbie Meyer now has eternal sunshine and is being warmed by the love of her father Joe and sister Nanette.
