Obituary of Hideko Tajima Gowen

Gowen, Hideko Tajima Age 80, of Excelsior passed away February 28, 2016 Born in Tokyo, Japan. Upon her husband's retirement from the airline industry she returned with her husband Ben to his family homestead and continued the family flower business Gowen's Gardens in Excelsior. Hideko was active for four decades in the Minnesota and American Hosta Societies. She was a respected hosta hybridizer with many cultivar introductions. Preceded in death bey her husband, Benjamin; Survived by her step-son Terry W. Palmer; step-daughter Shari Kay Lakin; as well as many other relatives. Memorial gathering 4pm - 9pm Thursday, March 31st at Cremation Society of Minnesota 7110 France Ave S Edina. Memorial preferred to donor's favorite plant society.
