Obituary of Ronald Lee Casper

Ronald Lee Casper, 66, of Duluth, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation. Ronald was born in Eveleth, Minn. on Aug. 19, 1949 to John and Beatrice (Johnson) Casper. He played hockey at Duluth East High School and graduated in 1967. After high school he served in the Air National Guard for a number of years. Ronald worked for several area construction businesses for the majority of his career. He was a fun-loving individual who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. As described by a family member: "You looked up to Ron like he was the Fonz, he was a little rough around the edges, but had a great heart." He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather James Hatten and beloved dog Buddy. Ronald is survived by siblings, Hugh (Diane) Casper, Kathleen (Scott) Minko and Lori (John Ward) Hatten; nieces and nephew, Julie, Jamie, Summer and Lance as well as a large extended family and many friends. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Bayshore for the extraordinary care they provided Ronald.
