Obituary of Warren Z Lane
Warren Z. Lane, 80, of Duluth, passed away March 8, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.
Warren was born in Knife Falls, Minn., July 24, 1935 to the late Zeph and Fern Lane.
Warren enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 17. He met his wife Patricia (Burke) in Belleville, Ill., and they were married March 6, 1959. Warren retired from the United States Air Force in 1972 serving one tour of duty in Korea and two tours of service in Vietnam. He settled in Duluth and worked at the Diamond Match factory in Cloquet.
Patricia, his wife of 48 years, preceded him in death in 2007. After, Warren would go on to marry Elizabeth Stich, and enjoyed their travels together until his passing.
He is preceded in death by brother Dale; sister Betty and great-grandson Christopher.
Those who loved and shared his life are: his wife Elizabeth Lane; sister Janice (Robert) McDonald; children: John (Darnell)Lane, Ward (Marjorie) Lane, Kathleen (Brian) Leach, Eric (Kelly) Lane; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his faithful companion Sunshine.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 3 p.m. Tuesday March 15, 2016 in the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN 55807. Fr. Bill Fider will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service in the Cremation Society. Military Honors will be provided by the Duluth Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Animal Allies Humane Society 4006 Airport Rd, Duluth, MN 55811. The Cremation Society of Minnesota assisted the family with arrangements.
