Obituary of Myrtle Ida Monroe

MONROE (Spees), Myrtle Ida, age 84, of St. Louis Park, passed away on March 17th, 2016. Member of Red Lake Ojibwe Nation. Active in the Red Lake elders program. Retired 41+ year employee of Honeywell/ATK and member of Teamsters Local 1145. Preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Monroe; great grandson, Hayden. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her children, Iris (Micco) Alexander, Marge Noel, Steven (Colleen), Gloria (Terry) Monroe-Johnson, Diane (Matt) Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many relatives and good friends. Mass of Christian Burial 4:30 pm Thursday, April 7, at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 5224 Minnetonka Blvd., St. Louis Park (952-926-1646). Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. George’s Episcopal Church.
