Obituary of Kenneth A. Awsumb

Kenneth A. Awsumb, Jr., 71, of Edina, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2016. Kenny was an avid fan of Minnesota sports, and actively followed all of the high school, college, and professional teams. He particularly enjoyed annually attending the MN high school state hockey tournament games with his father, brother, nephews, and great-nephew. Kenny’s good nature and enthusiasm left an impression on everyone he met. He was in the men’s clothing business for 49 years, during which time he made many friends and was well known in the community. He was a true friend to all and engaged everyone he met in conversation. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Ken Sr. and Dorothy. He is survived by: his brother, Tom (Jackie); nephews Sam (Michaela) and Jeff (Shannon); great-nephew Charlie (6); great-niece Hailey (4); and his longtime companion Sue Anne Stuart. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church. Private interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
