Obituary of Walter J. Carlson

Walter J. Carlson, 87 yrs., of Bloomington, passed away Mar. 25 of heart failure. Predeceased by parents Walter N. and Dorothy Nodell Carlson. Survived by loving wife, Louise, of 66 years. Daughters Susan Hayes (Terry), Nancy Carlson (Barry McCool) and son David Walter Carlson (Ann). Grandchildren Kelly McCool (Brian Rebhorn), Patrick and Michael McCool; William (Kriszti) Hayes and William Hayes; Walter, Henry, Peter and Sally Carlson. Four great-granddaughters Rhiley, Charlotte, Lily and Stephanie. Walter was a1946 graduate of Washburn High and received his BS degree from the Uof M. He served as Pres. of Victor Carlson & Sons from 1960 to 1988. A long-time member of St. Johns Lutheran Church serving on the church council. Member of the Mpls. Athletic Club and the Forever Fit Gym class, Zuhruh Shrine and Blue Lodge.Active in Svenska Salskapet Swedish Society. Service Thursday, April 7 at St. Johns Lutheran Church, 49th and Nicollet Ave. at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior. Memorials may be directed to St. Johns Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
