Obituary of Michael George Firth
Michael George Firth, 69, of Duluth, died Friday, April 8, 2016, at home with his family by his side, after a long battle with cancer.
Mike was born in Panama City, Fla., to George and Nola Firth March 12, 1947. He attended schools in Florida, Norway and Bogota, Columbia, graduating in 1965. Mike was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Okinawa during the Vietnam War.
Mike worked at Minnesota Power retiring in 2011 after 41 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mike is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cathy; children Larry Firth and Eric Firth, both of Duluth, and Kathy Firth of Baton Rouge, La.; stepson Jason McClure and his wife, Jodi, of Duluth; cherished grandchildren Cameron, Cassie, Connor and Cooper McClure, all of Duluth; and his sister, Melba Parrott, and her family of Crestview, Fla.
The family would like to give a very heartfelt thank you to Heather and the Essentia Health hospice team.
