Obituary of Steven Richardson Marshall

Steven Richardson Marshall, 53, of Duluth, Minn. passed away on April 12, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Steve was born July 16, 1962 in Duluth to James and Shirley Marshall. He was the third of four boys in a family that spent many summers together on Lake Pokegama, a place Steve loved with all of his heart. He graduated from Duluth East High School in 1980. He went on to become a skilled field technician, once competing on a national level. Steve was a self-taught ace mechanic and carpenter. Steve loved music and boating, and was an expert motorcyclist and a fearless skier. Above all else, Steve loved his family and the memories they created together. He was a true gentleman with a kind and giving heart, and lent a hand to anyone in need. He was a longtime member of Chester Park United Methodist Church until it merged with First United Methodist Church. Steve shared more than 30 years with the love of his life, Annette. He was a deeply loving and devoted father to his beloved daughters and papa to his precious granddaughters. Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents Chester and Dora Marshall, and Benjamin and Gertrude Witt; and by his much-loved cat, Pooh. Steve is survived by his wife Annette; daughters Stephanie Marshall and Angie Leste; granddaughters Alexandra and Adrienne; parents James and Shirley Marshall; brothers John (Karen), Pete (Laura) and Paul Marshall; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Teever." His wit, warmth, compassion, and love of family will be greatly missed by all of us.
