James K. Rygwall
Age 70, of Andover, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a 5 year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Dolores. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Marian; children, Rebecca (Jeremy) Hoffmann, Brian Rygwall, Kaitlyn (Mark) Dickey; grandchildren, Hazel and Evan; siblings, Jean Labo and Jeffrey (Judy) Rygwall and extended family and friends.
Jim was a man of many interests. As a teenager, he obtained his private pilot license which began his career in aviation first as a flight instructor and airport manager, which then led to a 35-year career with the FAA in flight service. Beginning in his youth, his love of music was evident as he sang and played guitar with several bands, which continued throughout his life. He was an avid woodworker, golfer, fisherman and classic car enthusiast. Jim had a deep love and commitment to his family. They will greatly miss his calm presence and sense of humor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 20th at 11AM at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St, Anoka with a visitation beginning at 10AM.
