To Marks friends and loved ones: Thank you for sharing Mark with us at Patient and Technical Services. We were so fortunate for all the ways he contributed, large and small. And I personally feel fortunate because I knew him. I remember so many times, he helped me really early in the morning, without hesitation and very kindly, so that I could successfully start on time. He was nice guy, an all-around good guy, and I will always remember him. My heart goes out to you during this difficult time.

Schmitt Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Mark's passing. He was not just an incredible colleague but a genuinely kind, patient, and caring soul who brightened so many of our days at work.
I’ll always remember how he would go above and beyond to help me. If I was struggling with my home office setup, he’d kindly let me FaceTime him so he could see the cords and walk me through the fix. His calm demeanor and willingness to help never failed to ease my stress, and I’m sure many others felt the same way. We would joke back and forth and he always got me to crack a smile. Know that Mark touched the lives of many of us in this department, and his loss is felt deeply.
My heart goes out to your family during this incredibly difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing how much he was loved and appreciated by everyone who had the privilege of working with him.

I had the privilege of working with Mark for 17 years and I will always remember his hard work, helpfulness, and genuine nature. He would help anyone who needed it. He had a way of brightening even the busiest days with his humor and that unforgettable chuckle, which I will deeply miss. I had the honor of serving as Mark’s manager at Medtronic. He was a wonderful colleague, caring teammate, helpful problem-solver, and expert in his field of technology. I’m grateful I had the privilege to work with him. He will be dearly missed.
