Obituary of Nugzar Nutsubidze
Nugzar Nutsubidze, 74, passed away on December 30th, 2024 in Minneapolis, MN.
Son of Leila Devidze, and Nodar Nutsubidze, he was born October 1, 1950 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
He graduated from Tbilisi State University with a degree in chemistry. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry. He married the love of his life, Tatyana, in 1979 and had three children Nina, Nodar, and Nataliya. In 1992, he moved his family to Minnesota to do research and teaching for the University of Minnesota. He has multiple published works. He went on to work in private sector biochemistry. In his retirement years, he served as a medical interpreter. He penned an autobiography in 2021.
Nugzar was preceded in death by his mother and father, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tatyana; their children: Nina (Andy), Nodar (Abigail); Nataliya (David); Eight grandchildren and sister Nino. Nugzar was a deeply beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, and friend. Nugzar was known for the genuine way he related to and showed love to others. Nugzar was actively involved in the Georgians of Minnesota community. He had a robust love for his home country of Republic of Georgia, having visited his homeland to see his extended family just a year prior to his passing.
