Obituary of Robert Harold Mostrom
Robert “Bob” Harold Mostrom, 78, passed away Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 in his Clover Valley home, with his wife by his side. Bob was born October 29th,1946 to Harold and Betty Mostrom in Cloquet, Minnesota.
He graduated from High School in 1964 from Toivola, Meadowlands and continued his education at Vocational School in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. He was employed at Conwed Corporation from 1966 – 1974, he proudly served our country in the Cloquet National Guard from 1966- 1974. He earned his well-deserved retirement from UPS in 2004.
Bob was the kind of guy you wanted to know and befriend. If you were fortunate enough to be his family, there was a special place he would hold in his heart for only you! After retirement Bob rode his Harley from Minnesota to Indiana, to Montana and everywhere in between. The force was with him when he built his Lego sets. He loved sports, the Minnesota Twins, Vikings, and Wild and any team his Grandkids played on. Music, vehicle maintenance, and Monday cribbage with Gary, were his anchors.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sally, his children Jodi Saeland, and Kelli (Jeremy) Rikala, Jacqueline (Andy) George, and Christopher (Cassidy) Snyder and daughter-in-law, Christine Mostrom. He leaves behind shining stars, his grandchildren, Tara, Emily and Brennan, Allie and Brady, and Parker. His brothers, Tim (Pam) Mostrom, Peter Mostrom, and sister-in-law Kathy Mostrom, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Betty, and his cherished son, Todd. Also preceding him, a sister Darlene Tanski, and brother Carl.
Special thanks to those who helped walk Bob home, Christa, Kara, Krissy and the rest of the Hospice team of Essentia Health.
Bob’s greatest contentment came in being home in the woods with Sally, surrounded by nature, his dogs, family and friends. There is a disturbance in the force.
An opportunity to celebrate Bob’s life will be held Friday, December 27th at 11:00 am at the Duluth Township Town Hall, 6092 Homestead Rd, Duluth, MN.
