Obituary of LeRoy Anton Lenz
It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of LeRoy Anton Lenz, who left us peacefully on Monday, December 9th a day shy of his 93rd birthday. LeRoy, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, spent his final days surrounded by his family reflecting on a life well-lived.
LeRoy was born on December 10th, 1931 the son of Herman and Dorothy (Eischens) Lenz and grew up on the family farm in St. Leo, MN.
LeRoy served our country for 4 years in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic, he spent the rest of his career working as a skilled bricklayer. But it was his role as a loving husband to his late wife, Jeanne, that defined him in the hearts of those who knew him best.
LeRoy married Jeanne Nosbusch in August of 1953 and shared their love for 71 years, taking on all of life’s mountains and valleys side by side. Now, together again, they will continue their journey, hand in hand.
LeRoy loved a good game of cards, reading the paper, a cup of black coffee with his breakfast buddies at McDonalds, a bowl of vanilla ice cream, a well stocked toolbox, cracking a good joke, and helping others whenever needed!
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Lenz, parents Herman and Dorothy Lenz, brothers Ray, Rudy, Don, Joe, and sisters Marcie, Marie, Doris, and Harriet.
LeRoy is survived by his children Robert Lenz, Patricia (Brian) Blegen, William (Kevin) Lenz/Swanson his grandchildren Michael (Alice) Blegen, Lauren Blegen, Carolee (Tyler) Letourneau, Alexander Blegen, great-grandson Sirius Blegen, Brother-in-law Richard (Amanda) Nosbusch, and Sister-In-Law Kathleen Toner.
A burial at Fort Snelling and a celebration of life will be held in 2025. A notice will be posted at that time.
May we remember the unwavering pillar he was, a man whose strength, kindness, and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew him. His memory will be a blessing, and his legacy will continue to guide us all.
