Mary Lindner

Obituary of Mary Delores Lindner

Mary Delores Lindner (Aretz) passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024 in her home at the age of 80. Mary lived in Maple Grove, MN.

She was born in 1944 in Victoria, MN. She was the loving daughter of Anthony and Catherine (Schutrop) Aretz.

Mary had multiple professions, she was a mom, grandma, homemaker, small business owner, but the thing outside of her family she found most rewarding was her career as a nurse. She received her formal nursing degree from North Hennepin Technical College in 1996. She worked at Windom Hospital, Methodist, and finished her nursing career at North Ridge Care Center in New Hope, MN.

Mary spent her life in service. She served the Lord as an active member of every parish she was a member of, including St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Windom; Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids; St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park; and St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Mary made meals for funerals, cleaned parish residences, and held vigil during late nights.

Mary was a voracious reader. Besides reading the bible daily, Mary would read almost anything she could get her hands on. For many years she kept grocery bags full of murder mysteries, suspense and romance novels. She also enjoyed camping with her partner Vern and loved the scenery of the mountains in the western United States. She often talked about the beauty of Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills.

Mary is preceded in death by her son Robert Lindner, her partner Vern Pytleski, her parents Catherine and Anthony (Tony) Aretz and sister Helen Hilgers.

She is survived by her son John (Tracy) Lindner, daughters Lisa (Rick) Voelker & Jennifer Lindner, grandchildren, Tony (Stephanie) Voelker, Chelsea Moriarity, Jerry Lindner & Abbey Voelker, sisters Kathleen Davenport, Bernette McDonald & Brenda (Joe) Tholen and many more loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her love and laughter will be deeply missed.

The visitation and funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.
